What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is just like being in a very pleasant daydream.

We naturally go into a hypnotic state many times throughout the day – when we’re totally absorbed in a hobby or a book or a film, for example.  Have you ever driven somewhere and then when you arrived, wondered how you got there?  Your mind went onto auto-pilot and you arrived safely!  Just like part of your mind controls your heartbeat and your breathing, it does it naturally without any conscious thought.

What does hypnosis feel like?

It feels like a pleasant state of relaxation.  When in hypnosis, you can still hear things around you and you won’t become unconscious; you are still in control and won’t be asked to do or say anything you don’t want to.

The mind is easily able to relax once in this pleasant state and be more agreeable to making changes that can positively help you to live the life you want.
